The Victorian government has introduced planning reforms that removes restrictions on Tiny homes across the state. From 1st December 2023, Tiny homes under 60 square metres will no longer require a planning permit for properties larger than 300 square metres with no floor or environmental overlays. We strongly advise you to do your own research.

The Queensland government has recently Doubled the First home owner grant from $15,000 to $30,000. You don’t need any deposit to apply for the grant – but it must be used within 1 year of purchasing a home. You must be 18 years old or older, Australian citizen or Permanent resident and you must live in the home you buy for at least 6 months.

This means you can utilise the $30,000 QLD grant money towards purchasing one of our
Dongaroo tiny Homes.

The tiny home can only be put on land owned by a relative for example your parents, grandparents, child, stepchild, sibling or the spouse of any of these family members. The landowner must still seek approval from the local council. You may require a written agreement & a statutory declaration between the grant applicant & the relative.

We strongly advise you to do your own research.

Each council has its own interpretation of the planning regulations and this is different for every council in every state. For example – 2 Queensland councils have just passed recent legislation to rent out your tiny home to non-family members and the entire state of Victoria has just passed legislation allowing a tiny home without a planning permit to rent out. We strongly advise you to conduct your own research. *Disclaimer – Local council rules may apply.
