From Dec 1st 2023 – The Victorian government introduced sweeping reforms that will eliminate the need for a planning permit for Tiny homes & granny flats on your property.
The Victorian government has announced the move, effective from December 1st 2023, which specifically applies to properties larger than 300 square meters and the Tiny home must be smaller than 60 sq metres.

As of November 2023 – there was hugely exciting news if you are looking at purchasing a new Tiny home outright in QLD – The Queensland government has doubled the first home owner grant to $30,000 for new builds including Tiny homes until mid-2025. So get in quick !
The changes mean that first home buyers in Queensland may be eligible for a payment of $30,000 towards the cost of purchasing a Tiny home, an increase up from $15,000 under the previous scheme.
This essentially means you can purchase a 1 or 2 bedroom Dongaroo tiny home more or less outright, without finance, with a $30,000 first home owners Qld government grant. The only rule in place is that you must put your Tiny home on a relatives piece of land.
